Life Lessons

Freakin’ Fantastic Friday PT. 13

When you were just a wee little lad did you ever think that the things you had to go through or endure because of your life’s situation would mold you and shape you into the person you are today? Did you ever think that you would operate in those same ways whenever you became an adult?

no

I know I didn’t. When I was younger I always thought, ‘when I get big I’m gonna have life all figured out’, ‘when I grow up I’m never gonna eat this kind of food’, or my personal favorite, ‘when I get older I’m never gonna take naps’. LOL hahahaha!! πŸ˜‚ I want to take a nap right now as I’m typing this, to this day I call to ask my mama how to make some of the food she fed us growing up and I guess I’m not big yet because last time I checked I didn’t have this whole life thing figured out, like why didn’t being an adult come with a manual or something?

I recently listened to Kevin Hart’s audio book, I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons, and I really enjoyed it, never would have thought that a comedian could give such good sound advice. After listening to his audio book I realized that he is much more than just a comedian and I actually grew to like him even more. I applaud you Mr. Hart.

In this book he talks about his childhood, his life’s struggles, family, friends, and his road to success. Of course I don’t want to tell you all about it because I would rather you listen or read it for yourself but I do want to point out one thing that I really liked about the book. He talks about how when he was younger he had to always be on the grind with his mama, keeping to a tight and strict schedule to make sure that he didn’t have any idle time to him self (Is it him self or his self? I always get it confused.) and how now that he is an adult he still practices those same values that he didn’t quite understand or like when he was a child. Making sure he keeps to his schedule and not having too much idleness of time.

I also like the fact that he is passing that on to his children, they get to see his work ethic and grow to admire it and work hard themselves.

You should definitely go and check this book out. It is worth the read.. or listen whatever works best for you. πŸ˜‰
